Kaostorten Trekking
If you want to escape the congestion of commercialized trekking trails and get off-the-beaten track then plan your trek to the recently developed trekking route,Kaotsorten Trekking route is one of the segment of the ‘Numbur Cheese Circuit (NCC)’. in Ramechhap, around 190 km east of the capital city Kathmandu. The trail connecting two beautiful river valleys, namely the Nupkshe and Mt.Numbur in the lap of Everest and Rolwaling region.The trail has been named in honor of the naturally appeared stone Stupa beneath of the virgin peak Numburchuli (6959m) as well as for one of first yak cheese factory of Nepal established in 1957.
MAJOR TOURISM ATTRACTIONS
Kaostorten Trekking could be a wilder but shorter route and genuine choice for wilderness seekers who are in quest for a circuit trekking package in relatively less visited areas. Visitors can experience the serene natural environment in two hidden valleys combined with exuberant cultural rituals. Trekkers can also reach up to the south face glacier of Numburchuili and hike through deep river gorges, terraced rice fields, temperate and sub-alpine forests, high summer pastures and experience a glacier walk on Likhu Valley. Visitors are kindly requested to trek gently; respect local people, culture and help to maintain the natural environment while trekking in the NCC. The NCC trails lies on Gaurishankar Conservation Area so trekkers must follow rule and regulations of the conservation and should pay the entry fee Rs.2000 in TOURIST INFORMATION CENTER at Shivalaya.
BEST SEASON AND EVENTS
March to June and September to December are the best seasons for trekking in NCC. However, Shivalaya, Serding, Thodung, Gumdel, Deurali and Lapchane areas can be visited with various customized packages throughout the year. Lhosar (During February),
