Kaostorten Trekking

If you want to escape the congestion of commercialized trekking trails and get off-the-beaten track then plan your trek to the recently developed trekking route,Kaotsorten Trekking route is one of the segment of the ‘Numbur Cheese Circuit (NCC)’. in Ramechhap, around 190 km east of the capital city Kathmandu. The trail connecting two beautiful river valleys, namely the Nupkshe and Mt.Numbur in the lap of Everest and Rolwaling region.The trail has been named in honor of the naturally appeared stone Stupa beneath of the virgin peak Numburchuli (6959m) as well as for one of first yak cheese factory of Nepal established in 1957.

MAJOR TOURISM ATTRACTIONS

Kaostorten Trekking could be a wilder but shorter route and genuine choice for wilderness seekers who are in quest for a circuit trekking package in relatively less visited areas. Visitors can experience the serene natural environment in two hidden valleys combined with exuberant cultural rituals. Trekkers can also reach up to the south face glacier of Numburchuili and hike through deep river gorges, terraced rice fields, temperate and sub-alpine forests, high summer pastures and experience a glacier walk on Likhu Valley. Visitors are kindly requested to trek gently; respect local people, culture and help to maintain the natural environment while trekking in the NCC. The NCC trails lies on Gaurishankar Conservation Area so trekkers must follow rule and regulations of the conservation and should pay the entry fee Rs.2000 in TOURIST INFORMATION CENTER at Shivalaya.

BEST SEASON AND EVENTS

March to June and September to December are the best seasons for trekking in NCC. However, Shivalaya, Serding, Thodung, Gumdel, Deurali and Lapchane areas can be visited with various customized packages throughout the year. Lhosar (During February),

Day 01 :

Arrival to Kathmandu & Transfer to the Hotel (1,400m)

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be warmly greeted by our representatives and transferred to your hotel in the heart of the city. After check-in, you'll have time to relax and recover from your journey. In the evening, there will be a briefing about the trek, providing you with essential information on the upcoming adventure. Day 02 :

Trip preparation day

After an early breakfast, we embark on a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Gumdel. The journey takes us through picturesque landscapes, including lush green hills, terraced farmlands, and charming villages. As we ascend, the air becomes fresher and cooler. Upon arrival in Gumdel, we settle into a local guesthouse, and you can take a short walk around the village to familiarize yourself with the surroundings. Day 03 :

Gumdel trek to Nupkshe 200m

Our first day of trekking begins with a gentle ascent through rhododendron and pine forests. The trail offers occasional glimpses of snow-capped peaks in the distance. The trek today is relatively short, allowing us to acclimatize gradually. As we reach Nupkshse, a small settlement, we set up camp enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the mountains. Day 04 :

Nuptkshe-Kholakharka

Today's trek takes us further into the wilderness, following a trail that winds through dense forests and across small streams. The path becomes steeper as we approach Kholakharka, a high pastureland surrounded by stunning mountain scenery. This area is used by local herders during the summer months, and you may see yaks grazing in the fields. We set up camp here for the night. Day 05 :

Kholakharka to Tare

After breakfast, we continue our journey towards Tare. The trail today is challenging, with steep ascents and descents, but the breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks make it all worthwhile. Tare is a remote area with limited facilities, offering a true wilderness experience. We camp here for the night, enjoying the tranquility of the mountains. Day 06 :

Tare to Rakidanda-Ngeju

Today's trek is one of the highlights of the journey as we make our way to Rakidanda and then on to Ngeju. The trail takes us through pristine alpine landscapes, with stunning views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. We pass by remote shepherds' huts and may encounter local wildlife along the way. Day 07 :

Ngeju to Kaotsorten

We start the day with a hearty breakfast before continuing our trek to Kaotsorten. The trail today offers a mix of gentle ascents and descents, taking us through forests, across rivers, and over rocky terrain. Kaotsorten is a small village where we can experience the local culture and hospitality. We stay in a guesthouse or camp nearby, enjoying the evening with the local community. Day 08 :

Kaotsorten to Bakamdingma

Today's trek takes us from Kaotsorten to Bakamdingma, following a trail that meanders through lush forests and across high ridges. The views of the surrounding mountains and valleys are truly spectacular. Bakamdingma is a remote village where we set up camp for the night, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and the sounds of nature. Day 09 :

Bakamdingma to Kshorma(Lahachhewar)

Our journey today leads us to Kshorma, also known as Lahachhewar. The trail descends through forested areas and crosses several small rivers. Along the way, we pass through traditional villages where you can observe the local way of life. Kshorma is a culturally rich village with a strong sense of tradition and community. Day 10 :

Kshorma to Gumdel

Today we make our way back to Gumdel, retracing our steps through the beautiful landscapes we encountered earlier in the trek. The trail takes us through forests, pastures, and small settlements, offering one last chance to soak in the natural beauty of the region. Day 11 :

Gumdel drive back to Kathmandu

After breakfast, we embark on the drive back to Kathmandu. The journey offers a final opportunity to enjoy the stunning landscapes of the Nepalese countryside. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to relax, do some last-minute shopping, or explore the city at your leisure. Day 12 :

Airport Drop

Your adventure in Nepal comes to an end today. Depending on your flight schedule, you will have free time in the morning to relax or explore Kathmandu. Terms and Conditions

1. Booking and Payment

Booking Confirmation: To confirm your booking, a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the total trip cost is required at the time of booking. The remaining balance must be paid at least 30 days prior to the start of the trip.
Late Bookings: For bookings made within 30 days of the trip departure, full payment is required at the time of booking.

2. Cancellation Policy

Cancellation by Client: If you cancel your trip, the following cancellation charges will apply:
- 30 days or more before departure: Loss of deposit.
- 15-29 days before departure: 50% of the total trip cost.
- 7-14 days before departure: 75% of the total trip cost.
- Less than 7 days before departure: 100% of the total trip cost.
Cancellation by Company: We reserve the right to cancel the trip due to unforeseen circumstances such as natural disasters, political instability, or insufficient bookings. In such cases, a full refund will be provided, or an alternative trip of equal value will be offered.

3. Travel Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for all clients. The insurance must cover emergency evacuation, medical expenses, trip cancellation, loss of baggage, and personal liability. You must provide proof of insurance before the trip starts.

4. Health and Fitness Requirements

Medical Conditions: It is your responsibility to ensure you are physically fit and healthy enough to undertake the trip. Any medical conditions or dietary requirements must be disclosed at the time of booking.
Medical Emergencies: In the event of a medical emergency, the cost of evacuation and treatment will be covered by your travel insurance. Our team will assist in arranging evacuation but will not be held responsible for any costs.

5. Itinerary Changes

Flexibility: The itinerary provided is subject to change due to local conditions, weather, and other factors beyond our control. We reserve the right to modify the itinerary in the interest of safety and enjoyment of the trip.
Unforeseen Circumstances: If an itinerary change is required due to natural disasters, political unrest, or other unforeseen events, we will do our best to provide an alternative itinerary of equal value.

6. Accommodation

Hotel and Lodge Standards: Accommodation will be provided as outlined in the itinerary, ranging from hotels in cities to guesthouses or tents in remote areas. While we strive to provide the best available options, please be aware that facilities may be basic in remote areas.
Single Supplement: A single supplement charge will apply if you wish to have your own room or tent during the trip. Please request this at the time of booking.

7. Responsibilities and Liability

Responsibility: We act as an agent for hotels, transport services, and other contractors, and shall not be held liable for any injury, damage, loss, delay, or irregularity that may occur due to the actions of these contractors.
Client Responsibility: You are responsible for understanding the nature of the trip, including the risks and challenges involved. You must follow the advice and instructions of the guide at all times.

8. Complaints and Disputes

Complaints: If you have any complaints during the trip, please inform your guide immediately so that we can address the issue promptly. If the matter is not resolved to your satisfaction, please submit a written complaint within 30 days of the trip’s end.
Dispute Resolution: Any disputes arising from the trip shall be governed by the laws of Nepal, and any legal action must be taken within the jurisdiction of Nepal.

9. Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for any failure to perform our obligations under these terms due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to natural disasters, strikes, wars, or government restrictions.

10. Privacy Policy

Personal Information: We respect your privacy and will only use your personal information for booking and communication purposes. Your information will not be shared with third parties without your consent, except as required by law.

11. Tipping Guidelines

Tipping is a common practice and is appreciated by guides, porters, and other staff. While tipping is not mandatory, it is a good way to show appreciation for the services provided. As a guideline, you may consider tipping 10-15% of the total trip cost, distributed among the support team.

12. Group Pricing and Discounts

Group Discounts: We offer discounts for group bookings of more than 5 people. Please inquire at the time of booking for more details on group rates.
Early Bird Discounts: Discounts are available for early bookings made 6 months or more before the trip departure date.
